So you think you know everything there is to know about the Harry Potter franchise. From the glaringly obvious plot holes to the fan theories that make you question EVERYTHING, you're pretty sure it would be your Mastermind specialist subject, right?

Er, wrong - because we bet you didn't know these behind the scenes scandals about the Harry Potter cast.

1. Jamie Waylett was arrested over allegedly growing cannabis plants

Hogwarts bully Vincent Crabbe was arrested in central London in 2009 after police allegedly found eight bags of cannabis in his car and plants thought to be worth £2000 in his family home.

He pleaded guilty to growing 10 cannabis plants and production of the class B drug in July 2009, and was ordered to undertake 120 hours of unpaid community work as as repercussion.

2. Daniel Radcliffe turned up to set drunk on multiple occasions

"I have a very addictive personality. It was a problem", he explained to Heat magazine. "People with problems like that are very adept at hiding it. It was bad. I don't want to go into details, but I drank a lot and it was daily – I mean nightly.

"I can honestly say I never drank at work on Harry Potter. I went into work still drunk, but I never drank at work. I can point to many scenes where I'm just gone. Dead behind the eyes."

3. A goblin from Philosopher's Stone was arrested for indecent exposure

Nicholas Read was arrested in 2011 and given a 20-week suspended sentence for indecently exposing himself to a teenager on a train, the BBC report.

In October 2010, he was found guilty of performing a sex act under cover of a juggler's hat on a train, and was made to complete a sex offender course - with the judge citing he was too "vulnerable" to receive a prison sentence.

4. Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe were accused of smoking weed

In 2009, Radcliffe and Grint were accused of using the illegal substance on separate occasions - allegations that their spokespeople strenuously denies.

Daniel's rep commented: "Daniel does smoke the occasional roll-up cigarette, but he was not doing anything more than this", while Rupert's stated: "This is categorically NOT Rupert Grint. It is an impersonator/lookalike."

5. Jamie Waylett was sentenced to two years in prison during the London riots

6. Emma Watson considered quitting after the fourth film

In a 2010 interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Hermione Granger actress said she nearly quit the franchise aged 16 because she felt trapped by the "horrible" filming schedule - but eventually made the "agonising" decision to sign up for another five years.

"I have such a structure when I’m working on Potter. I get told what time I get picked up", she explained of her potential decision. "I get told what time I can eat, when I have time to go to the bathroom. Every single second of my day is not in my power.

"I hate to sound whiny but it’s horrible. This has definitely been the most intense, gruelling period of film-making I’ve ever done."

7. Daniel Radcliffe admitted to sleeping with Harry Potter fans 'a few times'

"I was always very nervous about the groupie thing", Daniel explained in a candid interview about his love life with The Mirror. "I like to like somebody before I sleep with them. You know you’re going to have to talk to them afterwards, even if it is a one-night stand.

"I have... I mean, that has happened, but generally speaking I’ve known the person. Apart from a few times when I was drinking. Besides, I like having a girlfriend. I have a crazy life... somebody will tell me we’re going to an airport and I know vaguely what we’re doing but I have no idea when so I take it a day at a time."

8. Emma Thompson divorced her husband Kenneth Branagh after he had an affair with Helena Bonham-Carter - all of which were in the Harry Potter films

Now this is a scandal. Emma Thompson married Kenneth Branagh in 1989, but filed for divorce six years later after discovering his affair with Helena Bonham-Carter, reportedly stemming from when they met on the set of Frankenstein in 1994.

As you most probably know, Emma played Professor Trelawney in The Prisoner Of Azkaban, the Order of the Phoenix and Deathly Hallows: Part 2, Kenneth played Professor Gilderoy Lockhart in The Chamber of Secretsand Helena played Bellatrix Lestrange throughout the franchise. Awkward.

Helena and Kenneth's relationship lasted for five years, before they called things off in 1999, and she later started a long-term relationship in 2001 with director Tim Burton.

Speaking about the affair for the first time in 2013, Emma said it was all 'blood under the bridge', commenting: "You can’t hold on to anything like that. It’s pointless. I haven’t got the energy for it. Helena and I made our peace years and years ago."

9. Devon Murray was ordered to pay his agent £210,000

Murray played Seamus Finnigan in all eight Harry Potter films, and was ordered to pay his ex-agent Neil Brooks £210,000 in the High Court, it's reported. Mr Brooks said Mr Murray had once been ‘a joy to work with’ but alleged that Mr Murray ‘tried to dodge out of his obligations under the contract in an unlawful manner’ after the first four films, and owed him commission fees of more than £230,000.

The talent agent won the case, and Murray was made to pay him £210,000 of the reported £1million he made on the HP films.
