Site work to begin on new convenience store and gas station near Bemidji airport

May 21—BEMIDJI — Site preparation for a 5,200-square-foot convenience store and gas station will begin on Wednesday, May 22, at the northwest corner of Moberg Drive and U.S. Highway 2.

The business will either be a Holiday or Circle K store, according to Melissa Fahrenbruch, Bemidji's assistant city planner. Permit applications were made by Holiday, but the company has been rebranding many of its locations as Circle K. The former Holiday store at 1106 Paul Bunyan Drive SE was recently changed to Circle K.

In 2017, Holiday was acquired by Alimentation Couche-Tard, one of the world's leading convenience retailers, and became part of the Circle K family of stores. Couche-Tard developed Circle K into a global brand, with stores in more than 20 countries.

Fahrenbruch said site work will begin this week with the removal of trees.
