Bedford man arrested after deputies find drugs, firearm during traffic stop

BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WFXR)– The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man after allegedly finding drugs and a firearm during a traffic stop on Tuesday, April 2.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies conducted a traffic stop in a vehicle driven by William Patton Overstreet. During the search, deputies found multiple individually packaged baggies containing alleged Methamphetamine as well as a firearm.

Overstreet was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of Methamphetamines with Intent to Distribute

  • Possession of a Firearm while in Possession of Methamphetamines

Overstreet is currently being held in the Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bond.
