Bedford FD controls structure fire on Roaring Run Road, preventing fire extensions

BEDFORD, Va. (WFXR)– The Bedford Fire Department and Forest Volunteer Fire Department controlled a structure fire extending into surrounding areas on Roaring Run Road on Friday, April 26.

According to Bedford Fire, crews were dispatched at 7:08 p.m. to the 4700-block of Roaring Run Road on a report of an attached garage fully involved in a fire. En route to the scene, firefighters were told the fire had extended into the house, vehicles, and neighboring woods.

Crews arrived and found the garage with heavy fire showing and multiple exposures, and crews immediately began attacking the fire on the garage. They were reportedly able to control and extinguish flames in the garage quickly.

Crews then checked and attacked the fire’s extensions, preventing the fire from further spreading. They then stretched into the interior of the home and conducted a primary search of the residence.

No injuries were reported from the scene.
