Bedford County firefighters battle multiple vehicle, structure fires on Lizard Ridge Road

BEDFORD, Va. (WFXR) — Firefighters across Bedford County responded to Lizard Ridge Road after multiple vehicles, and outbuildings caught fire on Sunday afternoon.

The Bedford Fire Department (BFD) said just after 3 p.m. on March 10, crews received multiple calls for a brush fire. While en route, firefighters were notified that the blaze had spread to a building and multiple explosions were heard in the area.

The department said when they arrived, they found several structures and vehicles in flames. The heavy fire also started to spread to a home nearby.

Firefighters from across the county worked to contain the blaze for several hours and additional crews were called to assist.

According to the BFD, there were no reported injuries.
