Becky Lynch Shares Next Milestones for WWE’s ‘Women’s Revolution’
Becky Lynch is one of the “Four Horsewomen” leading the ongoing WWE “Women’s Revolution,” and on Sunday, she’s the only one of that quartet captaining a team at pay-per-view “Survivor Series.” So, yeah, we’d say the “Irish Lass-Kicker” is qualified to lay out the movement’s next milestones.
TheWrap asked Lynch what she sees as the next progession towards in-ring equality. Many squared-circle enthusiasts believe a women’s match headlining “WrestleMania” is the ultimate “made it” moment, so we specifically asked the first-ever SmackDown Women’s Champion to steer clear of that one in her answer.
“Sometimes I feel like there is a perception, and maybe I’m wrong, maybe this is just my own opinion and my own feelings, that it’s like, ‘Oh, we’ve already seen the women. We’re already had a women’s match,'” Lynch told TheWrap. “Well, why does that matter? We don’t say, ‘We’ve already seen Braun Strowman, we don’t need to see Kane. We’ve already seen a heavyweight.'”

“It doesn’t just always need to be one match, or one segment, or two segments, or three segments — like, why not have 75 percent of the show one week be all women?” she continued. “And why not have women’s tag team titles, why not have a women’s Royal Rumble?”
(Here, Lynch suggested starting with traveling women’s tag titles that move between her “SmackDown” and WWE’s flagship series, “Raw.” Smart.)
“Of course, the answer to that would be, ‘Well, we don’t have enough women,'” the fiery-haired grappler whose real name is Rebecca Quin, answered for herself. “But right now — now is a better time than ever. We’ve had the ‘Mae Young Classic’ — there’s proven to be a huge amount of talented women, of passionate women out there. And we’ve got a lot in (WWE’s developmental league) NXT. I think right now at the Performance Center [in Orlando, Florida] there’s currently 30 women training, which is huge. That’s more than we’ve ever had.”
