Beaver County's retail food inspections for April 2024

Location: 728 Franklin Ave., Aliquippa

Inspection Date: 04/23/24

  • 1601.11(A) Equipment, Food Contact Surfaces, Nonfood Contact Surfaces and Utensils

    • Inspector's Comment: Ice machine, a food contact surface, was observed to have gray and black residue and was not clean to sight and touch. Facility was not able to clean the ice machine today. Facility will discontinue use of ice machine and get bagged ice.

Economy Superette

Location: 2250 Conway-Wallrose Rd., Economy

Inspection Date: 04/08/24

  • 101.11 Safe, Unadulterated & Honestly Presented

    • Inspector's Comment: Observed in the cooler on the sales rack accessible to consumers, expired milk that was separated and discolored and in a swollen container dated Feb. 27, 2024. Bacon was observed discolored and slimy with an expiration date of Feb. 14, 2024. These adulterated items were discarded during this inspection.

  • 501.18 Ready-to-Eat, Time/Temperature Control for Safety Food, Disposition

    • Inspector's Comment: Observed containers of milk that expired on April 4, 2024, and April 7, 2024, were held beyond the expiration date in the cooler accessible for consumers. Milk was pulled from shelves and marked for return to the vendor during this inspection.

Leon's Caribbean Restaurant

Location: 2282 Brodhead Road, Hopewell Township

Inspection Date: 04/22/24

  • 101.11 Safe, Unadulterated & Honestly Presented

    • Inspector's Comment: Two separate pans of chicken were observed in the cooler area, slimy to the touch, spoiled, foul smelling, and are adulterated. Owner stated chicken was left over from last week. Chicken was discarded during this inspection.

The Point Diner and Lounge

Location: 124 Brighton Ave., Rochester

Inspection Date: 04/26/24

  • 101.11 Safe, Unadulterated & Honestly Presented

    • Inspector's Comment: Lettuce, rice, and unknown food observed in the two-door cooler, slimy to the touch spoiled moldy and is adulterated. Food was discarded during this inspection.

7th Ave Fish Chick & More

Location: 1424 7th Ave., Beaver Falls

Inspection Date: 04/29/24

  • 101.11 Safe, Unadulterated & Honestly Presented

    • Inspector's Comment: Swiss cheese observed in the walk-in cooler area moldy and is adulterated. The Swiss cheese stacks were discarded during this inspection.

  • 501.18 Ready-to-Eat, Time/Temperature Control for Safety Food, Disposition

    • Inspector's Comment: Multiple packages of various cheese, a refrigerated, ready to eat time temperature control for safety food in the walk-in cooler area, was date-marked by the facility, but was beyond the seven-day use or sell by date and requires discarding. Facility voluntarily discarded outdated items.
