Beach City man dies in motorcycle, pickup crash in Walnut Creek Township

A 19-year-old Beach City man died in a two-vehicle crash around 5:20 p.m. Wednesday in Walnut Creek Township, according to a report from the Holmes County Sheriff's Office.

Adam E. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene by the Holmes County coroner.

Miller was driving a 2014 Kawasaki motorcycle southbound on state Route 515 when, at the intersection of County Road 168, a 2011 Dodge Ram pickup, driven by an 88-year-old Sugarcreek man, pulled into his path from a stop sign, according to the crash report.

Miller struck the driver’s side front bumper of the pickup truck and was ejected from the motorcycle, according to the report.

Both vehicles remained in the intersection after the crash. Miller was wearing a helmet and the driver of the pickup was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to the report.

The intersection was closed for several hours as the crash was investigated.

Assisting deputies at the scene were Paint Township Fire and EMS, Holmes County Coroner Dr. Leon Miller and Holmes County Prosecuting Attorney Matt Muzic.
