Beach Bites: Grand Strand Coffee

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Whether you like your coffee as soon as you wake up, as a midday pick-me-up, or as a nightcap, the folks at Grand Strand Coffee do not judge.

Bettina Thomas, one of the co-owners of Grand Strand Coffee, is a coffee lover herself.

“I think it’s fun to see people before their coffee and see who they are in the morning, ‘I say before you put your mask on,’ ” Thomas said. “I think it’s a very unique way to connect with people on a deeper level.”

You might know Grand Strand Coffee from its location in the Market Common, but there’s a brand new location right in the heart of Myrtle Beach.

“The goal was always to grow from one location to the next,” Thomas said. “We’re super excited.”

Don’t worry, it is still all the same brews you know and love.

Their menu ranges from flavored teas and Americano’s to sweet lattes and, of course, their signature pour-over.

Crafting a pour-over is a bit of a lengthy process, but the team at Grand Strand Coffee does not skip out on any steps. It starts with grinding the beans, pouring water over them and then slowly watching the coffee drip.

“It’s really kind of soothing in a way to just watch the coffee being brewed,” Thomas said. “It’s exciting at the same time because you know that you’re fixing to get a really good cup of coffee.”

If you are looking for something a little sweeter, the truffle latte is the way to go. It’s a fusion of vanilla, raspberry and oat milk.

It’s not a coffee shop without some breakfast bites, and Grand Strand Coffee has a full menu of homemade eats, including a quiche and a sausage, egg, and cheese croissant.

The team at Grand Strand Coffee is filled with coffee experts. They know their stuff.

“My husband is a coffee importer, so we know the history and the background of coffee from the farm to when you put it on the table,” Thomas said.

When you walk into Grand Strand Coffee, you are not only getting a perfect cup of joe, you are getting a great experience, too.

“The vibe here is to be warm and inviting and kind of like your best friend when you’re walking in,” Thomas said.

Grand Strand Coffee’s new location is at 410 13th Ave. South in Myrtle Beach. Their first location is at 2954-E Howard Ave. in the Market Common.
