BBQ fundraiser event to benefit ‘Every Little Blessing Preschool’

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The Whole Hog BBQ fundraiser event, which symbolizes the “whole hog” commitment to improving the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and serving their families, returns Saturday, March 23, El Paso Community Foundation announced in a news release.

The “fun-foodie” event will take place from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at Grace Gardens, 6701 Westside Dr.

The Community Foundation says that the event benefits Every Little Blessing Preschool, the only pre-K of its kind in El Paso. Its mission is to support the development and independence of children with Down syndrome and children with similar education programming needs.

After hours of smoking and prep, carving commences at 3 p.m., according to the Community Foundation. Pitmasters from Desert Oak BBQ, Rollin’ Smoke BBQ, JBU BBQ, Smokey’s Pit Stop, and the Hotel Paso del Norte will participate.

Tickets are $150 and include all the BBQ you can eat, and live music from The Birdogs and Wildflower. The event also features a cornhole tournament and multiple raffles.

“The Whole Hog is our biggest fundraiser of the year and is more than just delicious food and great music. It’s the day we celebrate support for the Down syndrome community and the opportunity to continue the mission to prepare our unique children for a life of independence. Everyone is welcome to join us as we enjoy food and drink while making a difference!” said Jessica Quinn, director of Every Little Blessing Preschool.
