Bayou La Batre woman struck, killed by car: ALEA

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A Bayou La Batre woman has died after a single-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon, News 5 has learned.

Dessiree S. Hovel, 42, was killed when a 2006 Lexus RH400H driven by an 85-year-old left the road and hit her, according to an Alabama Law Enforcement Agency news release.

Hovel, who was walking at the time, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash happened around 2 p.m. March 10 on Padgett Switch Road near Alabama 188, inside Bayou La Batre city limits.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are investigating the crash.
