Bay District Schools cancels after-school events today because of extreme weather

PANAMA CITY — Bay District Schools has canceled after-school activities today because of severe weather expected to move through the area this afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service has Panama City on flood watch, with heavy rain expected Wednesday afternoon and evening. The system moving through the area could produce tornadoes and extreme wind.

Bay District Schools has announced there will be no changes to the school schedule for Wednesday. However, all after-school activities in Bay County have been canceled. This includes practices, sports events and student club activities. The school schedule for Thursday will not change at this time.
