Baton Rouge woman charged after deputies find pounds of marijuana, cash
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — An investigation into an accused marijuana and THC cartridge distributor ended with the arrest of a Baton Rouge woman on Tuesday, Feb. 20.
Heather Carter, 44, of Baton Rouge was charged with illegal use of controlled dangerous substances in the presence of person under seventeen years of age, possession of drug paraphernalia and three counts of possession/distribution/manufacturing schedule I.
The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office began investigating after receiving a tip on Wednesday, Feb 14.

During the investigation, a traffic stop was initiated “on a vehicle suspected of purchasing narcotics from the residence” on Buttercup Drive, according to the affidavit. Agents found “several marijuana THC products and a source of information,” EBRSO said.
That source told investigators that she bought narcotics from Carter in the past. She said she got the narcotics at the home and sometimes Carter would “send it to your house for an additional shipping fee,” EBRSO said.
A search warrant was obtained and the home on Buttercup Drive was searched on Tuesday, Feb, 20. Carter was handcuffed and she along with her son were both put in the back of a BRPD unit during the search. A search of the home uncovered drugs and more in the kitchen, bedrooms, living room and hallway closet.

Deputies were also permitted to search a storage unit belonging to Carter.
EBRSO seized a bulk of “cookies” labeled Ziploc bags and 14 pounds of marijuana in vacuumed sealed bags, according to the affidavit.
During questioning, the Baton Rouge woman said everything that was found in the home belonged to her. She told deputies she owns a business called Holistic Wellness Consulting and Mountain Pure CBD LLC. Carter said “that she has been distributing narcotics through her LLC for about 8 years,” according to the affidavit.
A friend of Carter’s took custody of her son.
The Baton Rouge woman was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Wednesday, Feb. 21. She also had a traffic bench warrant for speeding through the 19th Judicial District Court.
As of the publishing of this article, no bond has been set for Carter.
