The call for service resulted in a full evacuation of all school buildings and a notable interruption to the school day. According to BRPD, the call for service also interrupted public safety operations “until law enforcement partners could complete a sweep to give the all clear.”

“The Horry County Police takes these threats seriously and will continue to investigate each and every threat,” said Horry County Chief of Police Joseph Hill. “I applaud the cooperation from our federal and out-of-state partners. We hope communities across the country can rest a little easier knowing public safety professionals are hard at work, day and night.”
