Baton Rouge school bus stops, students unloaded for medical call Friday afternoon
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A school bus stopped mid-route in Baton Rouge on Friday, April 19, and students were evacuated following a medical emergency.
A call for all units to respond went out just before 3 p.m. Friday afternoon. Several EMS vehicles were seen near the intersection of Perkins Road and Park Avenue.
According to EMS, one patient was transported away from the scene to a local hospital for medical care. They were in stable condition.
BRProud had reporters at the scene who said students were being checked one by one.
The bus was for Kenilworth Science and Technology Charter School, which is not under the East Baton Rouge Parish Schools system. We’ve reached out to the school but not yet received a response.
