Baton Rouge police selling lunch plates to help officer after medical emergency
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Baton Rouge Police Department is selling lunch plates to help an officer recovering from a medical emergency.
Police said Cpl. Sirtelli Dorsey recently experienced a severe medical emergency while on duty. They are now organizing fundraisers, including a jambalaya plate sale, to help him and his family.
Plates are $15 and include a raffle ticket entry. Lunch options are smoked chicken with red beans and rice or chicken and sausage jambalaya and white beans.
Pre-sale tickets can be purchased by cash or check. Checks have to be payable to Behind the Line.
Plates can be picked up from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 8 at BRPD Headquarters. Police ask everyone to take Connell’s Village from Airline Highway.
Plates can also be bought on the same day with cash, Cash App or PayPal.
