Baton Rouge police arrest woman in deadly shooting on Tigerland Avenue

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Police arrested a woman accused of shooting and killing a 39-year-old Monday in the Tigerland area.

Sirena Franklin, 39, died after a shooting on Monday, March 11 around 11:48 a.m. in the 4700 block of Tigerland Avenue.

Franklin died of her injuries at a hospital, the Baton Rouge Police Department said.

Detectives identified Angelique Chatman as a suspect in this shooting. Police said Franklin was shot after a fight with Chatman.

Chatman was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Monday, March 11, and charged with second-degree murder. As of the publishing of this article, no bond has been set.
