Baton Rouge men charged after pounds of marijuana found during traffic stop
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Three Baton Rouge men were arrested after a traffic stop on Friday, April 19.
The stop was initiated by the Baton Rouge Police Department and took place around 11:45 p.m. in the 3100 block of Bartlett Street.
Jerome Walker Jr., 24, was charged with illegal carrying of weapons with controlled dangerous substance and possession with the intent to distribute Schedule I (marijuana).
Trazadreon Gaines IV, 22, was charged with illegal carrying of weapons with controlled dangerous substance and possession with the intent to distribute Schedule I (marijuana).
Ronald Williams, 22, was charged with possession with the intent to distribute Schedule I (marijuana).
BRPD officers initiated the stop after seeing a vehicle driven by Walker without its headlights on. Gaines and Williams were passengers in the vehicle.

All three men “were detained due to the odor of marijuana in the vehicle as well as a firearm that was in the vehicle under the driver’s seat,” according to the affidavit.
Officers were told there was another gun in the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, officers found baggies of marijuana in the trunk and glove box.
BRPD said officers seized 14 pounds of marijuana, a semiautomatic pistol, a rifle and cash.
Walker, Gaines, and Williams were all booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
