Baton Rouge mayor receives endorsement from Congressman Troy Carter

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – East Baton Rouge Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome has received an endorsement from Congressman Troy A. Carter.

“While in our nation’s capitol, I’m proud that I get to boast about the improvements our state’s
capitol city have made over the better part of the last decade, made possible by the leadership, decision-making, and vision of Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome. Equipped with a resume of quantifiable growth in addressing homelessness and crime, streamlining civic services, and much more, I am proud to endorse her re-election campaign,” Carter said. “Let’s help her finish what she started!”

Broome is seeking her third term as mayor of Baton Rouge.

ensure success for the city of Baton Rouge and the parish of East Baton Rouge. I have worked
closely with Congressman Carter for decades, and I am deeply grateful for his unwavering

She will be running for mayor against former state Rep. Ted James. He announced he was running for mayor last month.
