- Derrick Rose earned a spot on the United States' final 12-man roster of NBA stars for the Basketball World Cup after helping the Americans rip Puerto Rico 112-86 on Friday.

The Chicago Bulls point guard sat out an exhibition win over the Dominican Republic on Wednesday, but he gave a strong showing Friday with six points and four assists in 13 minutes and was among those named in the final squad by coach Mike Krzyzewski.

Damian Lillard, Kyle Korver, Gordon Hayward and Chandler Parsons were trimmed early on Saturday to reduce the squad to the 12-player limit needed by next Friday – the day before the global showdown gets under way in Spain.
