Basil Sold at Trader Joe's Recalled Due to Potential Salmonella Contamination

There’s an active recall on fresh basil sold at Trader Joe’s locations nationwide, according to the company’s website. This is due to a possible Salmonella contamination.
The Infinite Herb Organic Basil was sold in plastic packaging with a printed UPC of 8 18042 02147 7. The basil was sold from February 1, 2024 through April 6 in the following states and regions: Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, Washington D.C. and Wisconsin.
If you purchased the organic basil within the date range, dispose of it immediately or return to your local Trader Joe’s for a full refund. Salmonella is a contagious foodborne illness with symptoms including fever, stomach cramp, diarrhea and more. It can be life-threatening for those in vulnerable groups, including people over age 65, young children and immunocompromised individuals. If you’re experiencing symptoms of Salmonella after consuming the recalled product, talk to your healthcare provider as soon as possible.
