- Three-time World Series champion Madison Bumgarner could be out of the San Francisco Giants lineup for up to eight weeks after injuring his pitching shoulder in a motorcycle accident, the team said Friday. The Giants' pitcher was diagnosed with a shoulder sprain and bruised ribs following the incident, which took place during the team's off day Thursday in Denver. Doctors for the Major League Baseball club put his recovery timeline at between six and eight weeks. He was released from the hospital and was resting at the team's Denver-area hotel. Bumgarner is expected to be re-evaluated next week. The 2014 World Series hero had never previously been on the disabled list during his eight major league seasons.
