With baseball players deep into the offseason, we’re getting to see a little more of their non-baseball lives. Max Scherzer, Andrew McCutchen, and David Freese each have newborn sons. Tommy Hunter’s two-year-old son executed a righteous wiffle ball bat flip. We’ve seen pictures from at least two weddings, and video of an Austrian honeymoon. What could possibly be next?

I’m glad you asked, and you will be too. On Thursday, former New York Mets and Minnesota Twins pitcher Bartolo Colon went live on Facebook. Why? He was feeding pigeons.

No, really.

The video is five minutes long, and has footage of Bartolo feeding pigeons at the beginning and end. In the middle, we get Bartolo hanging with his friends. He takes pictures with fans, including a guy with an Albert Pujols shirt on, and his former Mets teammate Juan Lagares is part of the gang!

The whole video is actually pretty relaxing to watch, and it’s interesting to get a five minute snapshot into Bartolo’s life. He’s just being Bartolo Colon the guy, not Bartolo Colon the baseball player. He’s doing normal things like hanging with his friends at the park and feeding pigeons with impeccable technique.

Maybe in the future, we’ll get Bartolo going to the grocery store or washing his car. Mowing his lawn. Making dinner. The possibilities are endless, really.
