Barstow first responders to host Public Safety Fair

Barstow police and firefighters are inviting the community to join them this weekend at the city's Public Safety Fair.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday along Mountain View Street, between Barstow Road and Second Street, in front of the Barstow Police Department, organizers said.

It will include demonstrations, resources and "free family fun," city officials said in a written statement.

In addition to the Barstow Police Department and Barstow Fire Protection District, representatives from organizations including the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, the California Highway Patrol and Desert Sanctuary Inc. will also be on hand.

The event coincides with the final day of National Police Week.
