Barbershop opens in downtown Scranton

Apr. 18—Dee Apruzzese established a barbershop and salon in downtown Scranton to provide an environment where everyone feels welcome — regardless of age or disability.

A grand opening for Kind Cutz Barbershop, 344 Adams Ave., Suite 2, was held Friday. The shop offers haircuts for men, women and children.

Through Kind Cutz by Dee Stylez, Apruzzese, 34, also offers home services in the Scranton area. The city resident specializes in serving individuals with physical or mental disabilities.

She also takes pride in giving back to the community through free haircuts for children going back to school and veterans.

Apruzzese credits the Lackawanna College Venture Lab, led by director Michael Jensen, for helping her secure the necessary resources to open the shop.
