Barack Obama is urging Alabama voters to vote against Roy Moore: “This one is serious, you can’t sit it out”
Barack Obama is joining the fight to keep accused sexual predator Roy Moore out of the Senate.
Just one day before voters started heading to the polls for Tuesday’s election, the former President encouraged Alabama voters to support Democratic Senate Candidate Doug Jones in a pre-recorded phone message.
“Doug Jones is a fighter for equality, for progress,” Obama says on the call, according to CNN. “Doug will be our champion for justice. So get out and vote, Alabama.”

Obama is reportedly part of a larger effort by Democrats to pushback against Donald Trump’s endorsement of Moore for the Senate seat, despite Moore facing allegations of sexual misconduct from several women who say the former Alabama state judge pursued relationships with them when they were teens and he was in his 30s. One woman has even accused Moore of sexually assaulting her.
“This one is serious,” Obama adds. “You can’t sit it out.
The 44th U.S. President joins a growing list of politicians, activists, celebrities and other public figures who have spoken out against Moore in recent weeks.
Although many across the country have called for Trump to withdraw support from Moore in light of the disgraceful allegations against him, the reality-star-turned-politician has continued to turn a blind eye to any opposition. Given Trump’s own history with allegations of sexual misconduct from multiple women — in addition to the disturbing viral video that heard him brag about “grabbing” women “by the pussy” prior to becoming President – his support of Moore seems to fall right in line.
