Banff Film Fest raised $40k on the Western Slope
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo (KREX) — The Rotary Club of Grand Junction announced the Banff Film Festival raised $40,000 this year.
The Rotarians donated the $40k evenly among five local outdoor recreation organizations.
Colorado Canyons Association
CMU International and Outdoor Programs
Colorado National Monument Association
COPMOBA (Colorado Plateau Mountain Bike Trail Association)
Western Colorado Conservation Corp.
Each organization will receive $8,000. Barbara Bowman, a Rotarian, gave WesternSlopeNow some examples of what the funds will be used for by the organizations.
It’s exciting because the money that they will have will allow them to do some wonderful things. For instance Colorado Canyons Association will be taking students on raft trips. Colorado National Monument Association will be able to finish their ampitheatre.
