Two Baltimore Police officers pleaded guilty Monday in separate Baltimore City Circuit Court cases where they were accused of reckless driving and theft.

Officer Alexia Davis, charged in connection with a 2023 traffic collision, pled guilty to the traffic offenses of reckless driving and failure to control speed.

State’s Attorney Ivan Bates said previously that she struck a motorcyclist with her patrol car, a collision that resulted in the motorcyclist having their leg amputated. She originally faced charges that also included misconduct in office, negligent driving and driving an emergency vehicle without regard for the safety of others.

The judge sentenced her to a $1,000 fine for each count, which James Bentley, a spokesman for the Baltimore State’s Attorney’s Office, said was the maximum penalty.

Detective June Hall, meanwhile, was accused of falsifying her timecard and running personal errands in a department vehicle. She pled guilty to misdemeanor theft and misconduct in office, and received a probation before judgment. That means her guilty plea can be erased if she successfully completes the terms of her probation.

Online court records show she must pay $825.44 in restitution and is subject to one year of probation.

Attorney Chaz Ball, who represented both Davis and Hall, declined to comment. The Baltimore Police Department did not immediately provide statuses for the two employees.

Bates said in an emailed statement that “securing pleas from two officers for misdemeanors committed while on the job underscores our dedication to upholding the rule of law.”

“Accountability and integrity are cornerstones of justice, and these outcomes reinforce our commitment to ensuring that all individuals, regardless of their position, are held responsible for their actions,” Bates said. “It is critical to note that in the case of Officer Davis, the victim was consulted, agreed with the plea, and was present for the sentencing.”

Davis joined Baltimore Police in 2018 and earned $99,484 in fiscal year 2023, including overtime, according to a city salary database.

Hall joined Baltimore Police in 1996 and earned $165,912 in fiscal year 2023, including overtime, the database shows.
