FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Republican United States Rep. Steve Womack won his primary race for Arkansas’ Third Congressional District on March 5 finalizing the ballot for the general election on November 5.

The candidates on the ballot for the general election are Womack, Democrat Caitlin Draper and Libertarian Bobby Wilson.

According to Draper’s website, she’s a clinical social worker, small business owner, and adjunct lecturer at the University of Arkansas School of Social Work in Fayetteville.

The Libertarian in the race, Bobby Wilson, says he isn’t new to getting involved in the government. He ran in a city council race in 2020 and a justice of the peace race in 2022.

Womack and Wilson discussed what’s in store for the general election.

“I’m really looking forward to meeting everybody that I possibly can because I, I think the focus on, you know, our neighbors is kind of just how we just build a better neighborhood,” said Wilson.

“The general election in November, we’ll have both a Democrat and a Libertarian and we’ll take our message and our campaign to push back against a flawed Biden agenda,” said Womack.

Draper also commented on the race in a statement.

“We plan to travel around the district listening to voters about their concerns and what matters to them. We’ve been missing leadership that is on the ground, in-district, listening to the needs of Arkansans. It’s time to end the chaos in Washington. I plan to answer to the people of this district and not to party leaders.”
