In Baldwin County, home sales dip: report

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — Home sales have continued to decrease as the national mortgage rate is not improving.

A news release from Baldwin Realtors said their Multiple Listing Service reports showed a year-over-year decrease in Baldwin County’s closed sales for February 2024.

The county’s total sales volume has decreased by 21.6%. In February 2023, sales were at $252,571,333. The sales for February 2024 were $197,898,167.

309 traditional residential properties were sold last month compared to 359 in February 2023.

The average sales price has increased since 2023 by 1%, with the average price of properties in the area now being $400,479.

The average amount of days on the market for Baldwin County homes is 58, compared to 62 last year, according to the release.

The Orange Beach, Fort Morgan and Gulf Shores area south of Canal Road had 113 properties sold, which compared to 144 last year.

The average sales price decreased by 14.3% and the days on market average increased by 12.3%, according to the report.
