Backstreet Boys star and his wife have welcomed baby

Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter has become a dad for the third time.

He proudly announced the wonderful news on Twitter this week, while also mentioning that he and wife Lauren Kitt Carter had experienced "some minor complications" following the birth.

"We are proud to announce that our baby has officially arrived," Nick tweeted.

"[Praying emoji] But as a parent knows all to very well, sometimes things don't turn out the way you plan it. We have been experiencing some minor complications but things are looking a little better after the first night."

A second update read: "I wanted to thank everyone for all the prayers and good thoughts during this time. We will keep you updated."

Later on, the American star posted another tweet sharing some positive news: "Ok. So everything is looking better but we're not out of the woods yet. We have to stay in the hospital one more night. But Daddy and Mommy are watching baby like a Hawk.

"Thank you again for all your love and support. We see you [praying emoji]."

In the comment section, Nick's followers turned up with messages of support, as one individual wrote: Please tell @Lauren_Kitt that we [love] her and to continue to get well and stay strong. You two are a force to be reckoned with as a couple and have the most beautiful family together.

"Please continue to take care of one another. Sending love, light and prayers!"
