As Reality Television Shows capture the fancy of the nation with frenzy, and as culinary shows mushroom on one channel after another. Attention and admiration have only been distant dreams for bartenders in India, and also in the world. But all that has changed with the Bacardi Music CDs Legacy Competition.

Bacardi Music Cd’s Legacy Competition Mixed By MTV is a reality show format that captures the journey of country’s 13 of the finest bartenders - discovered through a rigorous initial screening, followed by Regional Heats. The top 3 compete in the finale for a once -in-a-lifetime chance to create a legacy drink for Bacardi.
The show is a 6 episode series, and a quest for the best legacy drink, and the finest bartender who makes it. The beauty and charm of making delicious exotic drinks, and life behind the bar is what this show showcases. And to this extent it is something that has never been seen before on Indian television.
The show has been hosted and judged by youth icon and popular Show Host Nikhil Chinapa. World renowned & celebrated mixologist Dimitri Lezinska was the expert judge. Joining Nikhil and Dimitri in hosting and judging the finale will be guest celebrities Neha Dhupia, Evely Sharma and Elizaveta. Excited yet? The finale will air on India’s largest youth platform – MTV on 24th May, 10 pm.
THE PIVOT – THE LEGACY DRINK
However, what truly sets Bacardi Music CD's Legacy Competition apart from other mixology contests is that it is the only Bartending Challenge across the world where the final winner is not just adjudged as the best bartender, but also has an opportunity to leave a legacy behind through his drink.
The competition challenges the best contemporary bartenders and mixologists in the country to create appealing and enduring drinks that will stand the test of time and become part of the illustrious legacy; alongside classics such as Daiquiri and Mojito.
Every bartender’s drink is a recipe and beyond, as it has hints from their own personal life experiences that have inspired the drink.
Besides stories that fascinate and that can make this drink a legend, the drink is also evaluated on its technique and other foundations like simplicity in making, ease of replication and ability to go into the future, and yet be as fresh as a Mojito is about a 100 years later today.
The winner who gets his legacy drink right in the finale will win the opportunity to represent India at the Global Finals in Sydney this year, where bartenders from across the world will come and represent their countries to win the Global title.
The finale will air this Sunday on 24th May at 10 pm, only on MTV
