Autopsy released after body found in the Susquehanna River

NEW CUMBERLAND BOROUGH, Pa. (WHTM) — Three days after a man’s body was found in the Susquehanna River, the Dauphin County Coroner has released the official cause of the death.

According to the coroner, the man died of freshwater drowning.

The man has not yet been identified and the manner of death remains undetermined.

According to Swatara Township Police, the man’s body was recovered near New Cumberland Borough at 7:23 a.m. on Saturday, April 27.

Police are working with the New Cumberland River Rescue, the Dauphin County Coroner’s Office, and the New Cumberland Borough Police Department to investigate.
