Authorities investigate Anti-Monopoly Committee head for corruption

The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) have launched an investigation into corruption allegations against the head of Ukraine’s Anti-Monopoly Committee, Pavlo Kyrylenko, SAPO told RFE/RL on March 25.
On March 21, Ukrainian media outlet Skhemy published an investigation which revealed that during 2020-2023, Kyrylenko's family acquired real estate and cars worth over UAH 70 million ($1.8 million).

Law enforcement began the investigation the day after the report was released.

If charged and convicted, Kyrylenko could face up to 10 years in prison and a ban from public service.
