Authorities Declare Public Health Emergency in Delhi Due to 'Severe' Pollution Levels

The Indian Medical Association declared a public health emergency in New Delhi on November 7 as the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research predicted “severe” levels of airborne pollutants for the next three days.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was quoted by the Hindustan Times on November 7 as describing Delhi as “gas chamber” .
