Austin weather: Storms make their way through Central Texas

AUSTIN, Texas - A severe thunderstorm watch was issued for most of Central Texas until 5 p.m. Thursday.

The National Weather Service has issued the following alerts:

  • A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for San Saba and Mason counties until 11 p.m.

  • A flood warning has been issued for Lampasas County until 8:26 a.m. on Friday, May 17.

  • A flood warning has been issued for Bell County from 11:55 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, until 5:35 p.m. on Friday, May 17.

  • A flood warning has been issued for Milam County from 7 p.m. on Friday, May 17, until 11:55 p.m. on Saturday, May 18.

Conditions are favorable for hail, damaging winds, lightning and heavy rain.

Even isolated tornadoes can't be ruled out.

The Storm Prediction Center upgraded us to a LEVEL 3 severe weather day.
