The charges stem from the summer of 2023 when Shamsur-Alam was working as a repairman at a home. Police allege that while there, he lured two young girls into the bathroom and sexually assaulted them. Investigators believe he also assaulted the children at an earlier time while doing maintenance there.

Shamsur-Alam was sentenced in 2020 for harassment, serving 60 days in jail. The charges were from 2019 offenses; Shamsur-Alam was originally facing charges of indecent exposure, harassment, sexual contact without consent and child abuse, according to the Colorado Courts website. Police say he exposed his penis to a young girl and pulled down the pants of a young boy. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail for the charges.
