The Augusta Air Show returns this weekend

AUGUSTA, Ga (WJBF)- This weekend the Augusta Air Show is back in town with family friendly fun for everyone.

People can expect to see some very talented aviators, both from the military and civilian sides. The Augusta Air Show happens to fall on Memorial Day weekend this year, so they want to honor the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.

The Augusta Air Show will feature the F-22 Raptor Demo Team, the U.S. Navy EA-18G Growler Team, a U.S. Navy Legacy Flight, a P-51 Mustang Demo, the REMAX Parachute Team and aerobatic pilot Buck Roetman, among others.

Highly trained military pilots will perform spectacular tricks in the air that will wow the audience.

Plus, people will be able to check out a variety of aircrafts on static display.

Yes, there will be plenty of options available relative to food and beverages, as well as merchandise.

People going to the air show should bring sunscreen, ear protection and up to a one liter sealed bottle of water.  If you are in General Admission bring your own chairs.  A personal size umbrella is also permissible for shade from the sun. No tents, awnings, canopies will be allowed.

Backpacks and bags are allowed, but will be subject to security inspection upon entrance. No smoking or vaping is permitted on the airport grounds. Pets are not allowed either.

If you are in General Admission or a Lawn Box, you should bring chairs.  Preferred Seating, VIP Corporate Chalets, and Flight Line Club VIP include seating so you can leave your chairs at home.

Columbia County schools looking to hire teachers

Gates open at 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The Flight Line Club and Corporate Chalets will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The aerial portion of the show runs from noon to approximately 4:00 p.m.
