Auburn man arrested on various fraud and theft charges

AUBURN, Ala. (WRBL) — An Auburn man was taken into custody on Wednesday, March 27 on multiple charges involving theft and fraud.

Police say Joshua Darrell Pugh, 24, was arrested on warrants charging him with the following:

  • First-degree theft of property

  • Second-degree theft of property

  • Third-degree burglary

  • Unlawfully breaking and entering into vehicle

  • Two counts of fraudulent use of a debit/credit card

These charges stem back to mid-March when a victim reported a residential burglary to Auburn police, stating their home on Owens Road was broken into. The victim told officers multiple items were stolen during this break-in.

Pugh was developed as a suspect. He was found by police on March 27 and arrested on first-degree theft of property and third-degree burglary.

Police say additional evidence was uncovered linking Pugh to an auto burglary on March 6 on Cameron Court. This left to Pugh’s additional charges of unlawful breaking and entering into a vehicle, second-degree theft of property and two counts of fraudulent use of a debit/credit card.

Pugh was taken to Lee County Jail and held on a $17,000 bond.
