Attempted bank robbery in Lebanon County

PALMYRA, Pa. (WHTM) — Police responded to an attempted bank robbery in Lebanon County on Thursday, April 18.

According to North Londonderry Police, they were dispatched to the Northwest Bank on 1048 East Main Street in Palmyra at 10:09 a.m. for an attempted bank robbery.

Police say that the driver of a red hatchback Honda Civic (2016 or newer) passed a note to the bank teller through the drive-thru chute demanding cash and claiming to have a bomb. The vehicle left the scene after the bank teller summoned a manager to look at the note.

The vehicle was last seen fleeing south on Plaza Drive. Police then received information that the vehicle may have been spotted traveling south on Forge Road (PA 117) towards Campbelltown, Pa.

According to police, the driver appeared to be a white male in his 20s-30s with blonde facial hair on his chin along with a thin mustache. Additionally, the driver was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt with a royal blue ball cap.

There was also a passenger in the vehicle seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with the hood up.

North Londonderry Police were assisted by Palmyra Borough Police, South Londonderry Police, and Derry Township Police.
