Atmos maintenance to affect downtown areas
May 11—Within the next week, Atmos Energy crews will begin work on gas lines in downtown Corsicana, primarily focused on Main Street and the alleyways west of Beaton. Business owners and residents will see the crews beginning work in the area, with maintenance lasting up to six to eight months.
Despite the length of time, Atmos Energy has assured the city and Main Street no businesses will be shut down while this work is performed, but those in the area should be prepared for work to begin soon.
For businesses, Main Street Corsicana suggests if the construction is affecting accessibility or visibility to storefronts, be sure sure to communicate to your customers that you are still open via additional signage on windows and doors, use of sidewalk sandwich boards and through social media.
