ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — Atlantic City tourism officials have unveiled a new $20 million ad campaign designed to bring more visitors to the seaside gambling resort, attempting to address potential vacationers' mixed feelings about the destination.
New TV, radio and print ads out Tuesday will encourage people to book trips to Atlantic City, highlighting the mix of things to do, including gambling and non-gambling activities. Most of the more than 3,000 TV ads, 5,000 radio commercials, and print and online ads starting next week end by featuring a specific Atlantic City event on a specific date.
The resort was seen as a great place for a spontaneous getaway by 85 percent of respondents to a survey. But only 21 percent rated Atlantic City as "a very clean place to visit."
A mobile "DO AC Roadshow" will take the campaign to other markets in the northeast including New York, Philadelphia and Baltimore.
