Athens Christmas Parade begins at 6 p.m. Thursday, will impact traffic

Nov. 30—Athens' Christmas parade will start at 6 p.m. Thursday and will impact U.S. 31 and downtown streets.

Athens advises that the parade is a heavily attended event and to expect increased pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Streets will be blocked along the parade route.

The parade will start at Athens Middle School on U.S. 31, move to Hobbs Street and take it west to Jefferson Street and go south. It will then go around the Square and take Jefferson Street south to the Hometown Shopping Center where it will end.
