ATCEMS: Two children injured in east Austin crash

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Two children were seriously injured and taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash in east Austin on Monday, Austin-Travis County EMS said on social media.

Around 7:20 p.m., medics responded to the 248-260 Bastrop Highway southbound for the crash, which is near Airport Boulevard.

Two children were taken to Dell Children’s, one with “critical life-threatening injuries” and the other with “potentially serious injuries,” medics said. One adult was evaluated by medics but refused transport.

Medics said drivers should expect traffic, as the entire highway is closed for an investigation by law enforcement.

No other details were released Monday.
