Astoria police seek attempted murder suspect after locating injured man

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Astoria Police Department is searching for a man accused of attempted murder after an injured individual was located at the Port of Astoria Boatyard Pier 3 with injuries, officials said.

Police say that the Astoria Fire Department responded Thursday to reports of a man who was injured in a fall. However, when first responders arrived at the pier, they discovered during the injured person’s medical treatment that “the victim’s injuries were not a result of a fall.”

While the victim isn’t being identified, pending notification to his family, police did say they are trying to locate and interview the suspect, 30-year-old Dylan Xavier Campana. Police say Campana “should be considered armed and dangerous and is currently wanted on an Oregon State Parole Board Violation.”

Campana is six feet tall and weighs 180 pounds, according to authorities. Anyone who has information about the incident or the suspect is encouraged to contact Astoria police.
