Ashland man accused of murder racks more charges

Apr. 19—A young male accused of killing his girlfriend in Ashland is facing two additional charges for smuggling contraband into jail.

Taylon Bensinger, charged with the October 2021 murder of 24-year-old Angel B. Rowe in a domestic incident inside of a home on the 3000 block of Montgomery Avenue was indicted on Tuesday, April 16, on two counts of first-degree promoting contraband, according to court documents.

Bensinger is charged with murder, tampering with physical evidence, first-degree wanton endangerment and is incarcerated at the Boyd County Detention Center.

He was apprehended at the scene after ditching the gun in the neighborhood, according to police.
