Arvest launches financial education tool to ‘build financial confidence’

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Arvest announces a new bilingual financial education resource that aims to help consumers build financial confidence, according to a news release.

The resource is called EmpowerED and is free for anyone looking to establish better financial health which is made possible through Arvest’s relationship with EVERFI from Blackbaud, according to the release.

EmpowerED is designed to provide consumers with the personalized knowledge necessary to make financial decisions.

“Providing financial education — whether it be via our new online platform or in-person workshops — can have real impact on people’s financial situations and their lives,” said Hillis Schild, executive director of the Arvest Opportunity Fund.

The Arvest Opportunity Fund is a wholly owned non-bank subsidiary of Arvest. Its mission is to invest in people through finance and education.

The release says EmpowerED users are guided through interactive lessons most relevant to them. Each area offers a 3-6 minute module to strengthen their knowledge on the topic.

It offers financial education on topics such as:

  • Banking basics

  • Money management

  • Mortgages and homeownership

  • Retirement and investments

  • Business banking

“Understanding your finances and making sound financial decisions is key to a strong future, but many people don’t know where to turn to get information they need in a way that is easily digestible and understandable,” said Ray Martinez, co-founder and president of EVERFI from Blackbaud.
