ArtLAB Offers Interactive Art Experience

CARROLLWOOD, FL -- It's an art exhibit with a twist.

Those attending this Saturday's ArtLAB will not only have a chance to see fine art, they'll have the opportunity to create art of their own.

The Thornhill Foundation for the Arts will present the second annual ArtLAB (Live Artist Battle) Oct. 20 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Carrollwood Cultural Center, 4537 Lowell Road, Tampa.

ArtLAB is an all-ages arts festival and live juried art show featuring an open-air market, interactive events, hands-on activities and a forum for Tampa Bay artists to create personal two-dimensional artwork around a theme, followed by a public gallery showing and auction.

Artists over the age of 18 will paint on site under the sprawling oak trees at the Carrollwood Cultural Center. Concurrent family-friendly events and activities will be held adjacent to the live art show.

The public is invited to watch the live artwork contest, which begins at 11 a.m., with an opportunity to vote for the People’s Choice Award. Official judging will determine first-, second- and third-place winners.
