Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo sets ‘Art on the Wild Side’ fundraiser

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo is preparing for its annual fundraising event, Art on the Wild Side.

According to a press release, the fundraising event has an online auction, VIP Sponsors-Only event and an evening celebration for general admission guests.

  • Online Auction: The online auction starts on March 16 and lasts through March 23. The auction includes “exclusive animal artwork, trips, attraction packages, and more!”

  • VIP Sponsors-Only: VIP and Sponsor guests are granted entrance to the evening celebration, March 23 at 5:30 p.m., according to the press release. VIP guests get “full access to the zoo, special dining and drink stations, giraffe feedings, keeper chats, and animal interactions.”

  • General Admission: Entrance for general admission guests begins March 23 at 7 p.m. General admission entrance includes “live entertainment, food, drinks, live and silent auction, live art demos, and animal ambassadors.”

Zoo officials say the fundraising event helps the zoo, community, and conservation efforts.

According to the press release, the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo has more than 300 animals. “Your sponsorship helps provide continual care and enrichment to all of the animals who call it home.”

In addition to helping the current resident animals, zoo officials say a portion of the event proceeds will help big cats.

“The possibility of bringing a new pair of tiger cubs or cheetahs to the zoo can only be done with your support.”
