Art On The Green Returns Sept. 22 In Woodstock

The fifth annual event celebrating what makes Woodstock vibrant will be held on the Elm Street Event Green.

WOODSTOCK, GA — An event celebrating the arts scene in Woodstock will return this weekend for its fifth annual installment.

Art on the Green will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Elm Street Event Green in downtown Woodstock. Art on the Green provides residents with an opportunity to experience the work of musicians, visual artists, craftsmen and some of the best culinary restaurants in the region.

The event is free and open to the public. Here's a rundown of what you can expect at Saturday's event:

DEMO TENT: (Space is limited and sign-ups begin at 9 a.m. Saturday)

10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. – Mommy & Me | ages 3 & up (with adult) | FREE

Painting a picture together with your little one can be creative and fun, because there are no mistakes in art. Learn from Siobhan Brumbelow and her 5-year old on how to collaborate on canvas. No experience necessary.

Noon to 12:45 p.m. – Pie Bar Demo | FREE

Learn from the pie master herself, Lauren Bolden of Pie Bar, of her tips and techniques to making a perfect pie.

1:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. – Art for Adults | ages 16 & up | FREE

Practice the art of oil/acrylic painting with Elm Street’s own Debbie Tidwell. She’ll walk you step-by-step through creating a simple painting and teach you tips and techniques she uses in her classes.

3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. – J. Miller’s BBQ Demo | FREE

Join J. Miller’s BBQ as they make easy appetizers from their catering menu. They make food look simple and delicious (Yes, there will be samples).

ELM STREET COSTUME TENT:

Elm Street is holding a Costume and “Funky Stuff” sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Come find that perfect Halloween costume or unique yard sale item.
